2011 Clonakilla O'Riada Shiraz
2011 Clonakilla O'Riada Shiraz (Canberra District)
A little tight to start, with crisp tannins. Needs some coaxing in the decanter. But then whoa.... a squadron of mixed spices erupts from the glass. Super savoury with an unspoken confidence of just how good it is.
Dark fruits, vanilla bean, mocha & charcuterie. Elegant, smokey & distinctively cool climate. Co-fermented with 5% Viognier. I love this kind of shiraz. Makes me wonder how good the Estate SV will be. Glad I've got some stashed away. Seriously sexy & undeniably complex.
Tasted 27th December 2012
12% Alc vol
