2011 Mt Difficulty Roaring Meg Pinot Noir (Central Otago, NZ)
2011 Mt Difficulty Roaring Meg Pinot Noir (Central Otago, NZ).
Entry level pinot may never get better than this. The structure & complexity belies its youth. Brambles, truffles & a load of beaten leather. Nose of strawberries & undergrowth.
Did not skip a beat on Day 2. More savouriness & delicate spices. Mouthfilling pinot noir where others just slip on through. Plenty to admire & matched with crispy skin pan fried blue eye, smashingly.
Must now revisit the Estate label.
Tasted 2nd & 3rd December 2012
14% Alc Vol
