2010 Larry Cherubino Ad Hoc Straw Man SBS
2010 Larry Cherubino Ad Hoc Straw Man Sauv Blanc Semillon
Normally I avoid Sauv Blanc or just use it to make risotto. This however has serious character thanks to great winemaking, top notch grapes & a special mention to that adorable and huggable grape variety, Semillon.
No cats pee here. This is ever so more than drinkable. It is thoughtful & layered. It will even get more interesting with a couple of years of bottle age. It's got Grandma's lemon meringue pie, chiseled nougat, sherbert and a delicate thrust of lemon butter. Have I mentioned the twist of lemon? And did I say how much I love Semillon?
This is screaming out for fish & chips, salt water & sunscreen.
Tasted 30th January 2013
13.4% Alc Vol
