2010 Paringa Estate Peninsula Pinot Noir
2010 Paringa Estate Peninsula Pinot Noir
It has been almost four years since I last had a bottle of this wine and I can assure you it will not be that long before I return. Brambles, spice & ripe dark cherries. Undeniable complexity. Has that extra chord of brooding masculinity & saddlebag ruggedness. Med-bodied with elegant drive & purity.
I've been fortunate to share on two occasions the Estate pinot and this wine is a tantalising preview to its magnificent big brother. Leather, anise & mint. Restrained power, finesse & toasty caramel oak.
Honourable mention in the value for money stakes; only missing a podium finish on price, not performance.
Tasted 26th May 2012
14.5% Alc Vol
