2011 Teusner The Empress Riesling Eden Valley
2011 Teusner The Empress Riesling Eden Valley
Complex aroma profile of frangipane flower, figs, sherbet, musk, chalk and subtle sea salt. Very dry with merely a lead jab of lemon and lime juice. Minerals and smooth river pebbles. There is a hint of kerosene at the very end that will polarise some opinion.
This is the first Teusner wine that has not impressed the pants off me. Having said that I am keen to try the 2012 vintage when released.
Tasted 21st, 22nd & 23rd March 2013
