2009 Campbells Rutherglen Durif

2009 Campbells Rutherglen Durif
Comfort food. Comfort wine. Silky smooth tannins, curvacious plump fruit and that yumminess that Campbells wines always provides. Gentle on the senses yet convincing enough to be taken seriously. Gee I love Campbells reds.

2010 Campbells Cabernet Sauvignon

2010 Campbells Cabernet Sauvignon
There's just something so very comforting with drinking the red wines of Campbells. A warm snuggly feeling in the pit of your soul. Chocolate & caramel pudding, dark cherries, anise & cloves. Tannins so gentle that they melt in your mouth.
A beautifully balanced, thoroughly revealing and graciously rewarding wine. A wine that gives so much more than is asked. I simply love drinking these wines.

Chambers Rosewood Old Vine Muscadelle (Rutherglen)

Chambers Rosewood Old Vine Muscadelle (Rutherglen)
Golden molasses coating the lining of the glass. Amazing burnt caramel and treacle. Deep black tea, salted popcorn, savoury spices and mocha. All tantalysingly weave around the mouth, each pulling a string of the puppet in a sensory overload.
Great length, balance and outrageously lingering aftertaste. Smooth, devastatingly complex and structurally brilliant. I feel like a leprechaun who found his pot of gold. And yes......... I licked the glass out at the end too.

2012 Pikes Clare Valley "Traditionale" Riesling

2012 Pikes Clare Valley "Traditionale" Riesling
Aromas of peach blossom and waxy apple skin. Slate, salt, chalk and sherbert. All the usual Rizza suspects in attendance. This however is my kind of young Riesling. Clean cut and super crisp. Racy, plush and scintillating.
A delicate squirt of lemon juice has the saliva prepped in anticipation for the gentle sweet promise that follows  before a sublimely dry finish. What tremendous value for money.

2012 Pewsey Vale Individual Vineyard Selection Eden Valley Riesling

2012 Pewsey Vale Individual Vineyard Selection Eden Valley Riesling
Frangipane blossom & sea salt. Immediately takes me back to holidays at the beach with my grandparents. This wine had me at hello. Dry with a glimpse of far distant sweetness. Flint, chalk, sherbert, lemon rind and a healthy amount of lime juice. Fine boned, pristine yet has immaculate structure.
Drinks incredibly well now, but will go a fair distance in the cellar too. As fresh and crisp on Day three as the first. I'm impressed.
